Moonment: Sizhu Li

Responding to the global pandemic, Moonment (Moon-Moment) is a site-specific immersive exhibition project. Sizhu Li found inspiration from the profound Chinese poem "海上升明月,天涯共此" by Tang Dynasty poet Jiuling Zhang. The poem reflects on the moment when the moon rises above sea level, people, no matter where they are, see the moon and connect by sharing the moonlight of that moment. Inspired by the moon and employing Arduino coding, a heart rhythmically beats along with metallic moving waves. People see the waves propelled by the moon, hear the heart beating, and connect to one another across space and time.
