Human +: Living & Making During the HIV/AIDS Epidemic

Human +: Living and Making during the HIV/AIDS Epidemic seeks to break down stigmas through the exploration of artists living and making with HIV today. Human + also features a curated timeline interwoven with the stark reality of the epidemic along with moments of hope and progress as the global community has continually come together to raise awareness, push for a cure, and expanded protections for those who are HIV positive.

Covering a range of traditional media, including an active socially engaged project, Human + exhibits work from Ben Cuevas, Kairon Liu, Darryl D Terrell, and Jessica Whitbread. Portraits from Liu, Terrell, and Whitbread are united through the woven web of Cuevas’ Knit Veins, visually conveying that we are all knit together with the same veins.
