What services do you specialize in?

Having formal training from the University of Chicago and professionally editing works in an academic setting for ten years, I am trained to shepherd manuscripts from first draft to publication. That means that I can provide the full range of editing passes—from an evaluation edit, developmental edit, line edit, copyedit, and proofreading. My favorite part of the process is centered on developmental and line edits; there is nothing quite like watching a story mold itself into it’s full expression.

Do you offer sample edits?

Yes! I offer sample edits for copy edits, line edits, and proofreading; each for up to 2,000 words. Sample editing costs $15 USD.

If you’d like a quote, send me an email and I can put one together within 48-72 hours. Variables that might affect my response time include being offline or OOO.

Do you have a contract?

Yes! Setting up a working relationship via a contract lays out the nature and expectations of our partnership and protects both parties. I am always open and willing to talk thru the fine print of the contract.

What genres do you edit?

I love editing fiction and nonfiction. With in the fiction world, I specialize in fantasy, thriller, and contemporary fiction. In the nonfiction space, I am experienced with memoir, inspirational/self-help, and educational manuscripts.

How long will it take for you to edit my book?

This will depend on the length of your manuscript. Typically I take 1week per 40K words, per editing round.

Can I schedule an editing service in the future?

Yes! Making a plan for when you estimate you’ll need editing services helps me block off time and ensure that I can focus on your book.

What if I have to change my project start date after I signed our contract?

Making a significant change to the project time frame after the contract is signed is doable and is dependent on other scheduled projects. If you request more than one change to the start date, each subsequent change request is $50 USD.
